My favourite review from 2020 "Kurt is the absolute king of the naramata bench. His knowledge about the history of the area, the wine industry, and the local vineyards is unparalleled. He spent 6 hours with my mom and I, driving us to 7 different wineries as well as showing us around the area while sharing anecdotes and stories about the people in the area that make up the history. From the founding of Naramata to the amount of berries the local bears consume, Kurt knows. You can ask him anything and if he doesn't have the answer (which i don't think is possible, the man is a walking encyclopedia) then he will know who to ask. He can make recommendations based on your specific tastes and takes you to hidden gems with an obvious passion and love for sharing the place he calls home. I brought my mother here for her 70th birthday and honestly Kurt made the trip. She was so delighted with him, his personable attitude, easy going nature and wealth of information that she told me that he, not the wineries, was her favourite thing about the trip! I would come back just to share Kurt with others, he was that amazing. He was on time (early!), courteous, kind, had a lovely sense of humour and sincerity about him that I genuinely appreciated. Don't hesitate to book him for a private tour of the area. He is better priced than the tour companies and way, way better value."
The cost of the tour can be split by anywhere up to 6 passengers. So....very affordable. Last year there was a demand for the wine tours by boaters coming here from many ports on the lake. I can pick you up at your boat or B and B and return you with your cargo. Looking forward to a great year this year!
I have lived and worked on the Naramata Bench for over 15 years. Much of that time was spent working in vineyards and six years now wine touring. Through this I have developed my reputation with the wineries. Its always a pleasure to take people into a vineyard for a lesson on the grape growing process. I am well versed on the history of the wineries on the bench as well as their awards and varieties. Wine tours are available Tuesdays Thru Sunday.
